After installing the extension, you will need to register. You need to do this before you can create and submit translation jobs. To register, fill in the registration form on the Create New Job page.
Select Product & Category Attributes to Translate
As this is your first time using the Straker Translations Extension, you need to select which product and category attributes you want to be translated.
These attributes will always be selected and translated by default when you create a new job. You can change these in the extension settings.
Setup Store Views
The first time you create a job you need to setup the store view pairs for translation. This involves selecting the Source store view (this is where the source content lives and is pulled from to be translated) and the Destination store view (this is where the translated content will be placed).
For example, if you are translating from English into French, then your English store view will be the Source and your French store view will be your Destination.
To do this go to
Straker Translations >
Create New Translation Job in the Magento Admin panel.
- First, select the Destination store view to translate into and the language (i.e. the target language and target store view).
- Next, select the Source store view to translate from and the language (i.e. the source language and source store view).
- Click Next
- The store view configuration will be saved when you submit your first job.
These configurations will be stored for future use. You can reset these by following the steps under Reset Language and Store View Settings.
