Marked Terms
Terminology used in the active segment, within the current file (Batch) will show under the ‘Marked Terms’. This includes Glossary terms and Required terms required for the project and client.
RED terms are ‘Required’ terms that must remain the same as the source text, and should not be changed.
BLUE terms are ‘glossary’ terms which help translators & validators provide the best choice of terms to use for their content.
Terms with GREEN tick indicate when the suggested glossary or required term is being used within the target segment.
Note: This tick does not indicate that the term must be used.
Case sensitive terminology (Aa). When terms are marked as ‘case sensitive’, this means that the case of the source term must match exactly to be considered as a glossary / required word match.
Example: Glossary term: IT
Source text: I went out to dinner with a friend and it was a great meal.
The word “it” will not be a glossary term, because the case does not match.
Source text: The world of IT offers many job opportunities.
The word “IT” will be marked as a glossary term, as the case matches the glossary term.
All Terms
This is where you can view all terminology used within the batch you are working on.
This means that terminology that may appear in different files (batches) within the same project (TJxxxxxx) can be searched and viewed here for reference.
You can also filter for ‘Required’, ‘Case Sensitive’ and ‘Used in Translation’ terms.
Filters
There are several filtering options in the Terminology pane to enable validators to select which information they want to view.
Terminology
There may be more than 1 type of Terminology available for the client (E.g. Marketing, Legal, General). You can use the filter to select which Terminology base you want to display in the Terminology Pane.
Terminology Type
You can use the filters “Required” “Case Sensitive” and “Used in Translation” to choose which terms you want displayed in the Terminology Pane.
Information Display
There is quite a lot of information available for Terminology in the Validation Platform, and validators can control how to display the information.
You can uncheck all the additional information displayed to have a simple source – target term view only. Or you can turn on all the additional options to have the information displayed by default.
You can also click on the individual terms to display/hide the additional information for the specific terms.

Explains the source and how it fits into the context of the content. |
Target Description |
Explains the target term in detail, context for its use, suggestions when applying, and special considerations. |
Not every single term will contain metadata. Some terms may also contain additional metadata which can be specific to some customers.
