How to request translation jobs

To request a new translation job quote: 

1. Click + REQUEST QUOTE at the top of the taskbar. 
   

2. The New Project form displays. Fill out the project form.
   

The following information is required when requesting a quote:

• • Document/Media – the type of job to be submitted
  • Company – clients that belong to several CRM groups can choose from what group they want to send this translation request
  • Reference – client’s internal project name which will be displayed in their account
    Notes:
    • You can add a reference with your new translation quote request. Your Straker reference can be found in the Job Details by clicking on the TJ number (job reference) of your job on the Jobs page.

• • • You must always provide the Straker reference during correspondence with us.

  • Timeframe – the specified time given to finish the job

  • Source Language – the language of the source document/media

  • Target Language – the translated language(s) output

  • Service Type – the type of translation job options available

    • Translation – translation by a translator with expertise in the languages required and the subject matter

    • Translation + Edit – provides translation and includes a review process by a second translator

    • Edit Only – editors will review your translated document to ensure accuracy as well as refine the translated document

    • Transcription + Translation – provides a transcription of your audio/video in the source language and translation of the script into your target language(s)

    • Transcription Only – provides a transcript of your audio/video file without translation

    • Voice-over – translated text is recorded by an actor/narrator which can be embedded into a range of multimedia file types

    • Machine Translation – uses computers to automatically translate text or speech from one language to another

    • AI Translation – improved machine translation by using machine learning algorithms with translation memory

    • ISO 17100 Compliance Translation – provides translation that is compliant with the ISO 17100 standards 
      Note: For transcription and voice-over services, please advise in the notes section if you need the script read by a specific gender, require dubbing, or have any other requirements.

• • Notes – additional information about your job request.
    Important: Make sure to provide as much information as possible about your job request to ensure that your requirements are fully understood and properly addressed.
    
    

• • Category – the type of industry classification

  • Quote/Delivery cc email – email address that you would like to receive quote/delivery cc emails automatically

    Note: This occurs on a project-by-project basis and applies to both quotes and deliveries.
    

• • Add New CC Email – adds new email addresses that you would like to receive quote/delivery cc emails

  • Workflow – customization for ongoing repeat clients, such as adding a review or a validation stage

    Note: Contact your account manager to enable this option.

3. Click Submit.

Once the request is submitted, it will appear on the Jobs page under the Quote Requested filter option.
