Source Language
Set your website’s source language – i.e. the language you manage your site in, or the language which you will be translating from. This language will be assigned to all content. See Language Management if you need to change the language assigned to a page.
Target Languages
Select the languages you would like to translate your website into under the Add new target languages section. You can select as many as you like.
You can also add and remove target languages at any time, your previous job history will always be available in your My Account Dashboard.
URL Settings
Option | Description |
---|---|
Language Code |
Selecting Language code automatically creates a URL which mirrors the original website URL adding a language code suffix preceded by a ‘/’. The language suffix can not be altered, we are working on this for our next update. For example, if your source website URL is: www.yourwebsite.com and your target language is French, then your language code URL will be created as: www.yourwebsite.com/fr |
Domain Name |
Select Domain name to submit your own URL and have any language code appear as a prefix. This option means you will need to move file content and will need additional developer support and changes to wp-config.php files and DNS settings. For example, if the website URL you have purchased is http://mynewwebsiteurl.com any language code will appear as a prefix. For example, a Chinese language site would appear as: http://cn.mynewwebsiteurl.com |
Content Only | Content provided back in your site tree as a pending with no language switcher options. Best for translations managed as grouped pages within the same site as original text. This option is best for those who only need the translation provided as a file, or pages automatically created within the original site. This is option may be useful for clients using WPML or similar plugins. |
