Adding the Straker App for Slack to your Workspace
To install the Straker app for Slack to your workspace, you will need to have someone within your organisation who:
- Is an Admin user of LanguageCloud
- Is an authorised Admin within your Slack workspace to approve an app.
The Admin user can log into LanguageCloud and install the Straker app for Slack from the Apps page on the sidebar. Or alternatively, you can download the app on the Slack Marketplace.
Once installed in your workspace in Slack, the Straker app for Slack will be approved within your workspace and will enable your users to install the Straker app within their own Slack workspace.
Linking your LanguageCloud Account
Once your Admin has installed the Straker app for Slack in your workspace, log into your LanguageCloud account and follow the instructions to add the Straker app for Slack into your Slack account.
Once added, the Straker app will prompt you to connect your LanguageCloud account. Once completed, you can start using all the exciting new features our app will make possible.
If you do not have a LanguageCloud account, follow these steps.
Things to Get You Started:
Checking Your Job Status
Simply type in the prompt /ray {TJ number}
into the message pane or alternatively, type in your TJ number or your job reference in the Straker app for Slack and this will return the status of your job.
You are only able to check the status of jobs that have been submitted using your LanguageCloud account. You cannot yet check the status of other users' jobs. This will be a future feature.
Job Summary
/ray my jobs
into the message pane you can select options to display a list of your jobs In Progress, Completed, In Validation, Pending Quotes and jobs you can Order.
Submit Files for a Quote
Simply drop and drag your file(s) into the Straker app for Slack.
The Straker app for Slack will recognise you have uploaded files into the app and will automatically prompt you to create a new translation job.
File types we support are: resx, xml, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx, rtf, odt, odp, ods, pdf, htm, html, json, txt, xlf, xliff, ai, psd, gif, jpg, png
Straker will provide you back with a quote once our quote engine has calculated the cost:
Job Notifications
Once your job has gone In Progress, you will be able to get notifications when your job status has moved In Progress, In Validation, or has been Completed.
LanguageCloud Admin Settings
LanguageCloud admins will get notification when a user of your organisation wants to create a LanguageCloud account to access LanguageCloud and Straker app for Slack features. The Admin can approve pending members via the Straker app for Slack, or within LanguageCloud.
Assistant
Straker has an assistant that will can help you with many of your translation needs immediately.
During the prototype phase, we will be constantly updating our assistant with more prompts to continuously improve the user experience.
