Adding the Straker App to your Workspace
To install the Straker app to your workspace, you will need to have someone within your organisation who:
- Is an Admin user of DeltaRAY
- Is an authorised Admin within your Slack workspace to approve an app.
The Admin user can log into DeltaRAY and install the Straker App from the Apps page on the sidebar.
Once installed in your workspace in Slack, the Straker app will be approved within your workspace and will enable your users to install the Straker app within their own Slack workspace.
Please note that since this is a prototype application, our app is not available on the Slack App Directory. Straker is in the early stages of submitting our Slack app so it is approved on the Slack App Directory.
Linking your DeltaRAY Account
Once your Admin has installed the Straker app within your Slack workspace, log into your DeltaRAY account and follow the instructions to add the Straker app into your Slack account.
Once added, the Straker app will prompt you to connect your DeltaRay account. Once completed, you can start using all the exciting new features our app will make possible.
If you do not have a DeltaRay account, follow these steps.
Things to Get You Started:
Checking Your Job Status
Simply type in the prompt /ray {TJ number} into the message pane or alternatively, type in your TJ number or your job reference in the Straker app and this will return the status of your job.
You are only able to check the status of jobs that have been submitted using your DeltaRay account. You cannot yet check the status of other users' jobs. This will be a future feature.
Job Summary
/ray my jobs into the message pane you can select options to display a list of your jobs In Progress, Completed, In Validation, Pending Quotes and jobs you can Order.
Submit Files for a Quote
Simply drop and drag your file(s) into the Straker Slack app.
The Slack app will recognise you have uploaded files into the app and will automatically prompt you to create a new translation job.
File types we support are: resx, xml, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx, rtf, odt, odp, ods, pdf, htm, html, json, txt, xlf, xliff, ai, psd, gif, jpg, png
Straker will provide you back with a quote once our quote engine has calculated the cost:
Job Notifications
Once your job has gone In Progress, you will be able to get notifications when your job status has moved In Progress, In Validation, or has been Completed.
DeltaRay Admin Settings
DeltaRay admins will get notification when a user of your organisation wants to create a DeltaRay account to access DeltaRay and Slack's features. The Admin can approve pending members via the Slack app, or within DeltaRay.
Assistant
Straker has an assistant that will can help you with many of your translation needs immediately.
During the prototype phase, we will be constantly updating our assistant with more prompts to continuously improve the user experience.

Upcoming Features
- ✅ Expanding Daily Summary Job Information - you will be able to see more detail about jobs in your daily summary.
- ✅ Job Due Dates in Local Timezone - you will be able the due date of your job in your local timezone.
- Receiving translated files - Slack will prompt you once your files are ready to be downloaded so simply click on the link to receive the files.
- Machine Translate files - you will be able to easily upload files to access machine translation in Slack using this app.
- Granular permissions for quote requests - you will be able to set approvers and quote limits for team members who need authorisation before accepting a quote.
- Granular permissions for job visibility - admins in DeltaRay will be able to add/edit who can see other users jobs within Slack.
- Job Notifications - ability to turn them on or off within the Slack app.
Please note: some of these features may be free during our Prototype testing phase, but will become paid features once released on live.
